Phone compatibility for Israel SIM card

Phone Compatibility

Most unlocked phones work with Israeli SIM cards. If you are unsure whether your phone is compatible you can check your device specifications on GSMArena and compare the supported frequency bands listed below.

We guarantee that the Cellcom SIM card will work with any unlocked mobile phone (including Verizon and Sprint devices). If you are unsure about compatibility, we recommend choosing Cellcom.

Check if Your Phone Supports eSIM

Many modern smartphones support eSIM (embedded SIM), which allows you to activate a mobile plan digitally without inserting a physical SIM card.

Follow the instructions below to check whether your device supports eSIM.

 
Apple iPhone Android Devices

Most iPhones from iPhone XS and newer support eSIM.

To check on your iPhone:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Tap About
  4. Scroll down to Carrier Lock
  5. Make sure it says No SIM restrictions
  6. Look for a section called Available SIM or Digital SIM

If your phone shows an EID number, your iPhone supports eSIM.

Common supported models:

  • iPhone XS / XS Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone 11 series
  • iPhone 12 series
  • iPhone 13 series
  • iPhone 14 series
  • iPhone 15 series

Many newer Android devices support eSIM.

To check on Android:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Network & Internet or Connections
  3. Select SIM Manager or Mobile Network
  4. Look for an option called Add eSIM or Download SIM

If your phone shows an option to Add eSIM, your device supports eSIM.

Common Android models with eSIM:

  • Google Pixel 3 and newer
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold / Flip series
  • Some Motorola models
  • Some Xiaomi and Oppo devices
 

Important

Your phone must also be unlocked to use an international SIM or eSIM. If your phone is locked to your home carrier, contact them to request an unlock code.

Make Sure Your Phone Is Unlocked

Before purchasing a prepaid SIM card, make sure your phone is unlocked. Contact your current carrier and request an unlock code if necessary.

You can also test this by inserting a SIM card from another provider. If the phone is locked, you will see a message asking for an unlock or subsidy code.
